Meet The Team!
How we did it.
Show & Tell (formerly known as THRIVE Center) was originally founded in 2006, when Colorado was granted funds for a Community Parent Resource Center to serve families with children with disabilities.
At the time, the current Executive Director, Yvette Plummer, was working as a Parent Advisor and Community Outreach Coordinator at PEAK Parent Center. She is a founding member of Show & Tell.
Our mission is to inform and empower families, particularly low-income families to speak on behalf of their children who have disabilities so they can become contributing members of their
schools and communities.
Why we do it.
Show & Tell exists to provide parents with information and training about disabilities; parent and children's rights under the IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) and other relevant laws; and resources in the Denver Metro area.
"I wanted to reach out and say thank you very much for the support you both offered to my son and myself when we needed it the most. Ever since the school hired a para that stays with him all day, he has been doing extremely well in school and we are now working towards weaning [child] off of the support.
He’s been spending full days in class, earning all 5 stars daily for full weeks, or most days. To see my son grow in such a dramatic way means everything to me. We truly could not have done it without the two of you.
Thank you so much for all of the support and care you both brought into this case. I can’t be more grateful."
